Why Support Mindfulness Programs?

Research by highly regarded researchers, scientists and institutions (e.g., Brown University, Oxford University) and many funded by the National Institute of Health, insuring rigor and fidelity of methods and outcomes has shown benefits including positive outcomes associated with increased self-awareness and emotional and attentional regulation. In addition, outcomes have included reductions in symptoms for various physical and behavioral health conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, chronic pain, and hypertension.

The Need is Great and Mindfulness Can Help

According to the World Health Organization, stress-related chronic diseases are the main source of death in developed countries. During the last decade, a significant number of studies have concluded that mindfulness helps to reduce physical and psychological symptoms of stress related to various health concerns and that it is a psychological skill that can be trained.
