A weekly invitation to mindfully pause, reflect, and reconnect

Each week, Mindful Monday invites you to use mindfulness to reflect on a relevant theme, helping you bring intentional practice into daily life. Every invitation includes a Practice of the Week to support presence, awareness, and self-compassion.

This page features the current Mindful Monday meditation, offered as a gentle way to practice and reflect throughout your week—returning to it whenever you need a mindful pause.

Practicing with Care and Kind Attention

Mindfulness can bring unexpected sensations, emotions, or memories. All guidance is just an invitation. During the meditation, you might find yourself:

  • Keeping your eyes open or closed, or shifting between the two

  • Changing posture, stretching, or moving as needed

  • Pausing or stepping away from any part of the practice

  • Focusing on an external anchor, like sound, if internal awareness feels overwhelming

Remembering that you are the expert of your own experience. How long you practice, or how closely you follow the guidance is far less important than practicing with kindness, gentleness, and patience toward yourself. Click here to learn more about the Attitudinal Foundations of Mindfulness

An important reminder: Mindful Monday meditations are offered as a supportive resource, not a substitute for therapy or clinical care. If practices feel consistently activating or distressing, please reach out to your therapist or another trusted support.

Mindfulness Theme: Finding Balance in the Midst of It All

"Working toward balance takes a lot of ingredients. We need courage, reflection, attention, action, and a push-and-pull relationship between effort and relaxation."
~ Tara Stiles

This Week's Practice: Focused Attention

Listen to the focused attention meditation below. During the practice, if you notice the mind is busy (which is a very normal experience) seeing if it is possible to also notice a sense of steadiness (the body feeling at ease, the constant nature of the breath, sounds continuing all around you, etc.)

Guided by Katie Morales. If you enjoy this practice, you might like Introducing Mindfulness, MBSR, MBCT, and Mindfulness for Young Adults
